DOES IT TASTE 'STRONG'?

Strong tasting coffee is often confused with 'strength'. The taste of coffee is reliant on its roast. The darker the roast the 'stronger' the taste. The strength of the coffee itself refers to its caffeine content. Black Insomnia's flavor profile is smooth and sweet, thanks to its light roast - but it is extremely strong in terms of its caffeine content. Black Insomnia is extremely strong, but tastes light on the palette.

A lot. Our ground and whole bean have been lab tested and verified by caffeine informer to contain 1105mg of caffeine per 12oz cup. That's 4x more caffeine then your over priced drive thru coffee.

Will your coffee kill me?

We get this question a lot since we boast some of the strongest coffee you can buy anywhere. The answer, in short, is no. The average healthy adult can consume way more caffeine per sitting then is in our coffee. Unless you plan to have 10 cups in a sitting, you have nothing to worry about. As always with any caffeine, those with heart issues should consult their doctor.

I love energy drinks, why should I try your coffee?

Energy drinks can be great for a quick boost of energy but the sugar content is high and they are packed with additives and various stimulants. Are you using magic beans? How do you add in so much more caffeine then the rest?

No magic beans or added synthetic caffeine. We pride ourselves on using the highest quality beans available in our coffee. Using a carefully selected and thoroughly tested blend of Robusta and Arabica beans, we combined the high caffeine content of Robusta beans with the smoother flavor of Arabica.

I've tried the competition but whats makes your coffee better?

Simple. Our roasting process and blend of beans. Robusta beans contain 3-4x more caffeine compared to Arabica beans but can also be bitter. We use premium Robusta and a blend of roughly 10% Arabica to removed the bitterness while still packing the coffee with caffeine.

How many cups can one bag make?

This depends on you! A pound of coffee can make between 16-30 cups depending on your brew size and volume of coffee used to brew. We recommend mixing 4tbsp of coffee with 6oz of water (double for a 12oz coffee) and alter based on brewing methods.

Do you have K Cups or will Nespresso Pods work in my Keurig?

K Cups are in production and will be released soon. Keep an eye on your emails or join our newsletter. Nespresso Pods are ONLY compatible with Nespresso Original style brewers. They will not work in Keurig K Cup style brewers.

How fast after I order will I receive my coffee?

We strive to deliver coffee to your door as fast as possible depending on your shipping speed selected at checkout. Most orders leave our fulfillment centers within 1-2 business days and will arrive 2-5 days after. Bulk orders, international, APO/FPO/DPO and orders to Hawaii or Alaska may take longer.

Where do you ship?

We ship to all 50 U.S. states plus D.C., Puerto Rico, Guam and APO/FPO/DPO addresses. We can ship to P.O. Boxes as well.

Do you ship international?

YES! We can ship to many countries. If your country is available for shipment it will appear in the options on the check out page. Some countries have restrictions or are known to have shipping issues and those will not appear. This can change over time. Customers are responsible for knowing their countries import laws and paying all customs duties and fees on their orders. If the order is returned to us for any of the above reasons we will not be able to refund the shipping charge incurred on the order.

Do you ship to APO addresses?

Yes. Be sure to enter the country as United States, the city as APO or FPO, the state as Armed Forces Europe (AE), Armed Forces Pacific (AP), or Armed Forces America (AA), and the APO zip code. The tracking information will only tell you when the order gets to the facility, then it's in the military's hands to get it there, so please be as specific as possible with the unit when filling in the address information. Unfortunately we do not have a good way to provide tracking for APO shipments since once it leaves the USPS and enters the military/diplomatic mail system, we have no visibility.

What shipping carriers do you use?

We use USPS, UPS, Fedex and select regional options depending on order size and ship to location. Our goal is to select the carrier with the best delivery speed for you. P.O Box orders will ship using USPS.

Do you offer free shipping?

We certainly do. All domestic US orders will ship free. International orders will ship at the calculated price per destination.

How can I track my order?

After placing your order you will receive a confirmation email. There will be a link to follow your order. Once we ship you order another email with tracking will be automatically sent to you. If you are having trouble please email us.

How do I return or exchange my order?

Due to the perishable nature of coffee we can not accept exchanges on coffee orders. We do accept returns or exchanges on defective or unused items. If your merchandise is faulty, we certainly want to make it right. Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on used merchandise. Please be sure all merchandise (excluding coffee) items are returned or exchanged within 30 days of the purchase date. Unfortunately, we cannot refund the price of shipping in some cases. Please email info@blackinsomnia.us before shipping any items back to us to ensure your item is properly processed.

You can edit your subscription settings at any time to change coffee products, change intervals and pause/cancel.

I have a discount code. What do I do with it?

Make sure to enter your coupon/discount code at checkout before submitting your order. We only accept one promo code per order. Promo codes can not be combined with other offers including auto delivery discounts.

How long will your coffee last?

Coffee can last a long time when properly sealed after opening. Humidity is coffees worst enemy. Keep coffee away from humidity until it is brewed. Storing it in a dark, airtight container at room temperature will keep your ground coffee fresh for up to 4 weeks and beans for even longer. Check out our airtight Black Insomnia container!
