Whipped coffee (also known in some circles as Dalgona coffee) is a tasty spin on everyday coffee.

The best part? The taste.

The second best part? With only 4 ingredients total, it takes hardly any time or effort at all to make in your own kitchen. It’s really not much more work than brewing an everyday pot of coffee.

And the end result is: you’ll feel like you’re indulging yourself in a fancy, overpriced coffee shop. So hand yourself 9 bucks, and sip your way to whipped bliss.

One might even call it “a miracle whip.” I wouldn’t, but one might.

You probably have all or most of the things you’ll need in your kitchen already, so let’s get started!

(As you probably know, whipped coffee is one of those trends that started on TikTok—the original recipe involved manually whipping the coffee by hand, but you can also use a hand blender to make it even easier. We’ll use that method for our recipe, but you do you.)

Also, whipped coffee is often made on TikTok with instant coffee (blech), but for this recipe we’ll use freshly ground Black Insomnia Classic Roast.

Ingredients

Directions

First, take your brewed coffee, sugar, and water, and whip them together using a hand blender. Once your sugary coffee concoction is all fluffy, all you have to do is pour it over milk and ice in a glass.

If you want to spice things up or if you just want to make this simple recipe more complicated, you can add spices from your cabinet. Sprinkle some vanilla extract, brown sugar, cinnamon, those red and green sprinkles you bought for Christmas cookies 3 years ago etc.—anything you like.

Whipped coffee is great no matter what time of year it is, since it’s equally good hot or cold. If you want to make a hot version of whipped coffee, just leave out the ice and heat up the milk before you pour the coffee/sugar mixture over it.

You can make dairy free whipped coffee by using your preferred plant-based milk like almond milk, coconut milk, soy milk, etc.

Need keto-friendly whipped coffee? Good news: you can just swap out the sugar for some low-carb keto-friendly sweetener.

I get the “Whipped” part — But why is it called  “Dalgona” Coffee?

The other name for whipped coffee, Dalgona coffee, came from an old Korean street drink. The way whipped coffee is made resembles old-fashioned Korean Dalgona coffee for the most part, so a TV personality in Korea named whipped coffee after that.

Wherever it came from originally, it’s easy to whip this together without slowing yourself down in the morning. (And with Black Insomnia’s 4x caffeinated coffee in it, you know it’ll actually speed you up in the morning.)
