An AeroPress coffee maker is a great way to make rich, smooth delicious coffee at home. And as far as brewers go, it's certainly unique.
Because of its unique design and the fact that it's a fairly new invention—at least as far as coffee brewing tech goes—a lot of people wonder how long an AeroPress can be expected to last before it needs to be replaced.
How long Does an AeroPress last?
In general, you can get a lot of mileage out of an AeroPress coffee maker—certainly more than enough to make up for its ridiculously low price compared to other brewing methods.
With proper use, care, and cleaning, a single AeroPress brewer can last for years. The AeroPress company itself suggests that about 2 - 3 years is a normal life expectancy. (Though they can and do last longer.)
Of course, there are a few things that can shorten its lifespan, such as using it many times a day, and/or not properly cleaning it after each use. Leaving it exposed to heat (i.e. hot water) or sunlight can also degrade the materials faster.
Assuming you take good care of your AeroPress, though, it should be able to make great coffee for years to come.

Fix It or Replace It?
The rubber seals and gaskets will probably, eventually, need to be replaced. You'll know it's replacement time when they stop forming a tight seal and your AeroPress starts leaking coffee grounds into your brew.
It's very simple to fix an AeroPress by just replacing these rubber parts, but considering the time and cost, it could be just as reasonable to just buy a new AeroPress.
Especially considering that no matter how careful you are, you will get scratches and scuffs on the plastic parts of your AeroPress over time.
(Coffee grounds are made of rough bits. Unless you have a coffee maker made of diamond, coffee grounds will scratch whatever they're in.)
And if you replace only the rubber parts, these plastic components will obviously retain their existing scratches from the years of use before the rubber parts needed replacement. Of course, it's ultimately up to you what you want to do when your AeroPress needs new parts.

Summary
While an AeroPress coffee maker is a great investment that can last for years, it's not going to last forever. With proper use and care, you can expect approximately 2 - 3 years of smooth, delicious coffee from your AeroPress coffee maker.
There are people who report longer lifespans—4 years, 5 years, plus—from their AeroPresses, but 2 - 3 years is a good rule of thumb.
The parts that are likely to fail are the rubber components (seals and gaskets). Fortunately, the AeroPress is priced so affordably that it's easy to just buy a new one when needed. In any case, when your AeroPress does finally reach the end of its lifespan, you can either replace the rubber parts or buy a new one.
